With a masterโs degree in marriage and family therapy from Pepperdine University, specializing in clinical psychology, I have provided psychotherapy services to various populations including children and family, incarcerated individuals and family members, adults with severe symptoms of psychosis, and individuals with history of substance abuse. As an advocate for those in underserved communities, I have been a source of support in both a traditional therapeutic setting, and also in a court setting due to my experience working closely with the different entities in the criminal justice system.
By ensuring that all my clientโs needs are met, I am able to build a strong rapport which allows for a space for vulnerability and honesty to address the underlying mental health conditions that may be exacerbated by substance use. I provide services from a psychoeducational perspective and utilize evidenced-based treatment modalities within a multi-cultural theoretical framework to understand and address my clientsโ needs. Because my compassion towards healing goes beyond a therapy room, I focus on increasing insight into substance use and progressing through the Transtheoretical Model to reduce the risks of future relapse.
